The details of a recent survey released by the RAC appear to show that UK motorists are being driven to distraction by internet apps on their mobile phones.
UK law dictates that a mobile phone should only be used whilst driving with a hands-free kit and texting whilst on the move is a definite no-go. Despite this, the tough fine and point’s policy now in place, the number of motorists who admit to sending texts whilst on the move has tripled in the last year.
According to the research, the number of people sending text messages has risen from 11% to 31% with 28% (up from 8%) also admitting to taking calls on the move.
